Reposted from neatorama.com: This makes me seriously think twice about keeping and breeding dangerous animals. -Belthagarus
Mark Voegel, 30, was found dead in his Dortmund, Germany apartment. His body was draped in spider webs and more than 200 spiders, several snakes, thousands of termites, and a gecko were feasting on his corpse. […]
A police spokesman said: “It was like a horror movie. His corpse was over the sofa. Giant webs draped him, spiders were all over him. They were coming out of his nose and his mouth. There was everything there one could imagine in the world of reptiles. Larger pieces of flesh torn off by the lizards were scooped up and taken back to the webs of tarantulas and other bird-eating spiders.”
The spiders, snakes and termites managed to escape when the heating elements exploded and opened the lids to their tanks.

Don't know about this one bro.Having all those reptiles in close proximity to where you are co-habitating with them just seems like a powder keg waiting to explode. And here is a perfect example of that happening.Sure it was a freak accident that caused it but thats the whole point. At what point in time do you consider yourself as saying yeah I have a huge collection of some deadly animals, spiders, etc, but am I safe. Can my domain handle such a thing.I myself cant really answer that one, because I'am not an extreme collector like this guy was.Belthagarus you have a snake collection what steps have you taken to prevent this.It was the spider they say that actually bit him.Thats just freaky they got out and so small,it was probably impossible to account for all right away and down he went and then the feast followed.
